Our Values
Worship Acts 2:46-47
We passionately desire to glorify God above all things. Therefore, we believe in wholeheartedly giving our best in every aspect of our lives, both public and private, in order to exemplify the worthiness of God.
Accountability Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
We value Biblical community that encourages a deeper relationship with God. We practice accountability by being open and transparent in our personal spiritual lives. God created the body of Christ because He knew that we would need each other. Throughout the New Testament we find many 'one another's,' including love one another, serve one another, and encourage one another. Therefore, we believe in creating an environment that fosters authenticity, accountability, and opportunities to minister to one another.
Commitment Mark 12:28-34 John 14:23-24 Luke 14:33
We have a genuine desire at RWC to welcome people who are at various places in their spiritual life. We want to respect the freedom people have to process the claims of Christ in their own way and at their own pace. In doing this, we also want to help people respond to Christ with a focused commitment to Him and His lordship. We boldly call people to full devotion to Christ as a natural response to the truth of who He is. As we see the truth of who Christ is and what He has done for us, our response of commitment to Christ can lead us to an incredible freedom! As we grow as a disciple of Christ we will become increasingly free to express our devotion to him in a multitude of ways. Our relationship with Christ will lead us into a worldview and lifestyle that is shaped by Him.
Teaching 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We believe the Bible is the foundation and authority for the church. Everything about our church is to flow from this core value. Therefore, we believe in equipping and training, using Biblical doctrine as the catalyst for impacting individuals, communities, and the church.
Prayer Exodus 17:8-16 Ephesians 6:10-20
We are totally dependent on God. We are committed to activating His power in our lives and ministry through prayer. It is only by God's power and grace that people are liberated and empowered. For our ministry to be effective and bring glory to God, we need to be continually available to and dependent on God in prayer. We continually encourage our people to pray together at RWC.
Evangelism Mark 16:15
We value God's desire for all people to have a personal and life changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore, we believe that every Christian is called to invest in the process of sharing the gospel. The love of Christ is not a philosophical or ideological concept. God's love must be made real in our ordinary lives through who we are. Our desire is to use the creative gifts given us to express the creativity and love of our God.
Our Pillars
Just as four pillars are needed to hold up a structure, we believe the four pillars on which our church is built are campus, missions, small group, and worship. Without these, our church would not be able to stand, therefore we work earnestly to strengthen these pillars and solidify our foundation.
Campus Ezra 7:10
We seek to shape the minds of today's students with a godly perspective for the rest of their lives to influence their communities.
Worship Colossians 3:16
We passionately desire glorifying God in and above all things. Therefore, we believe in wholeheartedly giving our best in every aspect of our lives, both public and private, in order to exemplify the worthiness of God.
Missions/Community Outreach Acts 1:8
We believe that every Christian is called to invest in the process of sharing the gospel to those in their sphere of influence, their community and to the nations.
Small Group Acts 2:42-47
We seek to create an intimate environment where all people are transformed through God's message.
Membership
As Christians, we are part of the Body that is the Universal Church. Yet, the expression of this truth must be lived out within a local body congregation.
Membership is a covenant whose intent is to call each person to live a Christ-like life of worship, to build the Kingdom of God in the locale they are in, and to build up the body of believers as it is their community.
We at Remnant Westside Church believe in membership. This covenant stands as an agreement between the church to the member in accountability, leadership, and ministry. This covenant also stands in agreement between the member and church in submission, service, and integrity.
Membership to a local body is important for the growth of the individual and the growth of the church. As such, we highly encourage you to think and pray about making Remnant Westside Church your local body.
Please contact us if you have any questions about or are interested in becoming a member.
